General Scuba Class Information

Upon completion of the course there is an open water diving experience required to become fully certified. This is scheduled after the course is completed or a referral letter can be issued. See your instructor for more information about this.


After all coursework and open water requirements have been completed you will receive your Scuba Educators International (SEI) certification. We offer the option of also receiving a National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI) certification card but extra coursework and fees will apply. Certification cards from both agencies and wall certificates can be purchased at an additional fee.


Skills Covered During Class:

  • Proper care of equipment
  • Mask and Snorkel clearing
  • Assembling and Disassembling SCUBA equipment
  • Regulator clearing
  • Octopus breathing
  • Basic diver rescue & handling emergency situations
  • and much much more!

For those uncomfortable with meeting for face to face instruction on classroom days, e-learning will be available. Pool skills must be done in person, and you must attend all sessions to complete your class. (Make-ups are scheduled on an as needed basis.)

Advanced Scuba Diver Course

Interested in getting your Advanced or just increasing your diving skills then come to STC dive center and Brian. This summer you earn your Advanced Scuba Diver along with the following specialties: Deep Diver, Limited Visibility/Night Diver and Nitrox (additional $50) also improve your navigation skills. You can do this for only $625.00 (that is less than the open water class in many places).


E-learning for classroom, one pool session for skill assessment and six open water dives. Required dives: Navigation (1 dive), Night or Low Visibility (2 dives), Deep dive (2 dives) and elective dive from list (1 dive). Dives must be separate dives over at least two days.


Get your E-learning access code at the shop anytime it is open, pay in person or over the phone.
